Project Description: The proposed project will create and coordinate a sustainable move-out program for living communities on and around the UI campus. This will reduce waste such as food, clothing, and furniture generated by students at the end of each semester.
Reducing Energy Consumption in UI Buildings: Assessment and an Environmental Pilot

Project Description: This project will analyze existing facilities data to be used in a building-level baseline for energy use at UI campus. The data will provide the basis for a campus-wide education campaign on building-related energy use and will be drafted into materials that can be used as part of the UI Sustainability Assessment. Six to 8 buildings will be prioritized for further analysis and more in depth educational efforts. A number of activities will be evaluated for their effectiveness in reducing energy use in these buildings and for their potential to be used in a more campus-wide effort in future years.
Composting at the McCall Outdoor Science School

Project Description: The goal of this project is to implement a large-scale composting program at the McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS) to reduce food waste and become more sustainable. By composting, the project will reduce food waste, use compost to assist in growing native vegetation on campus, and educate the participating students at MOSS about the composting process.
